Edward Donnelly preforms in the Broken Wings video
Here's a great photo pulled from the upcoming Dresden Cowboy music/video for the Jason Peirce song BROKEN WINGS. It's another well produced piece of music by the team of Mike and Ed, and it's nice to finally get Ed into one of the videos!

The Fallout from my super hero cowboy...
The Fallout from my super hero cowboy costume, and Cody's amazing song THE COOL CATS WILL CALL, has been fantastic. The video was well received. The outfit, complete with blue feather, is now hung in my closet awaiting the moment that a bull-legged, dressed up, singing cowboy is needed to save the day on Hollywood Boulevard. I begin production on the Broken Wings video next week... I'm also in process of finishing up a song that I am co-writing with Jason Peirce titled Angel Sing (which my son is slated to produce), and, Cody Melville is cooking up another song possibility for me as well. Oh, and I've dusted off my old Ensoniq keyboard workstation. It needs a soldering job - then I will pull sequenced tracks for a song I wrote many years ago and get that one off the Mike and Ed for, yet, another marvelous arrangement. Good days indeed for the Dresden Cowboy! God Bless.

Cowgirl Kimmy Asks...
Cowgirl Kimmy, a professed Dresden Cowboy fan, writes... "Hey, love your work Cowboy - I'm always looking for hidden meanings and the "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" seems perfect for your song The Cool Cats Will Call. But it gives me more than one way of thinking. Can you tell me how the video relates?
Well Cowgirl Kimmy... I looked at The Cool Cats Will Call (written and produced by Cody Melville) as being about how pursuing fame will make your heart empty and head full of distracting nonsense - at least, if you are prone to analyze. So the line "story books heroes are looking like a couple friends of mine" gave me the idea that super heroes were the easiest way to illustrate that understanding to the contemporary Disney/Hollywood super fueled attraction to Marvel, and other-like fantasy characters. The plastic hot police mannequin is intended to represent the vapid relationships which comes with the fallout of fostering a delusional fame driven ego. By design, these videos have a retro feel, so, I am hoping to invoke a bit of nostalgia reminiscent of the early days of MTV. I would add, in particular, on this video I experience a huge degree of surreal fun.

Yee-haw, sayeth the Dresden Cowboy!

Broken Wings
Sent vocal tracks to L.A. producers Mike and Ed. They've put together a
compelling arrangement for my version of, yet, another Jason Peirce
song titled Broken Wings. I expect to begin production on the Music
Video early next week. It's a beautiful, soulful song and I look
forward to posting this version soon. My best!

Here's another still shot from the upcoming music video for my version
of the Cody Melville song, THE COOL CATS WILL CALL. This is a shot of
Flash along side Wonder Woman w/ Zorro looking on. Hollywood Boulevard
is like a carnival for the eye.
Also, I would like to mention, Mike and Ed sent over the arrangement on my version of the Jason Peirce song BROKEN WINGS... Wow, I look forward to putting the vocal tracks together the first of next week.

The Work Song...
Okay, two cool things today. Well, tonight... I finally had the
opportunity to sing the Work Song live with Marty and Elayne at the
Dresden, in Hollywood. It wasn't brilliant, but, it wasn't not
brilliant (whatever that means). Also, finally decided on the shoes for
my blue costume for the next Dresden Cowboy music video. Monochrome
man is just a couple weeks away. Regardless, the shoes are - Lugz Men's
Brigade Hi TX Boot. Pretty cool boots, not that I'm getting a kickback
or anything. I think everyone will get my blue choice upon completion
and posting of the vid. The wardrobe choice is for the Cody Melville
song titled The Cool Cats Will Call. I look forward to posting the
music video soon.

Another still shot from the latest Music Video
We have two shooting days left on my New Way to Cry music video... Just need a break in this California monsoon. Looks like Mon/Tues will be the final shoot dates. Ken Fischman and Julien Reneaud have been assisting production on this one. I also have started work on The Cool Cats Will Call music video. Cool Cats is an amazing Cody Melville song, which, he also produced for me, and I'm excited about shooting the video for that one as well. I look forward to posting the new vids very soon.

Drinks in Hollywood
Had
drinks with my brilliant L.A. music producers... Michael Madill and Edward
Donnelly came by the Dresden tonight in Hollywood. They brought a buddy
by as well, Chuck Bartels, a current member of Sturgill Simpson's
band. Apparently Mr. Bartels is in town along with Mr. Sturgill to do some little television
presentation - it's called the freakin' Grammy Awards! Marty and Elayne
played tonight while we toasted. Sara was their guest
performer, she sounded good, as always. It was a fun time. Nice to
meet fellow Michigander, Chuck Bartels. Best of luck to you and
Sturgill at the 2017 Grammys!
